Many Japanese students love traveling abroad, especially for homestays, language exchanges, and post-graduation trips. This course will equip students with the most common skills for communicating in English before, during, and after an overseas trip. These skills include pre-trip inquiries by email, navigating through airports, checking in at a hotel, using public transportation, ordering in a restaurant, post-trip follow-up correspondence, etc. Students in this course will have a chance to take a virtual overseas tour and sample the local culture in famous cities in England, Australia, Canada, and the USA. |

This class will be highly interactive, requiring students to engage in pair work and group discussions almost every week. If you’re the kind of student who likes to sit by yourself in the back of the room, I’m afraid this course is not for you. Please bring your positive attitude and be prepared to be an active participant in a very fun learning environment. |
