英語コミュニケーションⅠ (N81B)

学修到達目標	A) Students will learn skills needed to communicate in different situations. B) Students will learn how to use cultural knowledge to communicate better with foreigners. C) Students will develop their vocabulary and their ability to use the vocabulary.
授業形態及び授業方法	We will do listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities in small groups and pairs. Students will look at common situations when travelling abroad。Students will hear and present on their own culture and foreign cultures in small groups.
履修条件	All levels of students will be able to participate.

第1回	Introduction to the Course, Getting to know each other, International Culture.
第2回	Student Presentations：Introducing Yourself Learn how to introduce yourself and some useful presentation tips.
第3回	Exploring Culture, Travel Tips for Travel Abroad, Controlling Language: Learn how to control language and conversation.
第4回	Arrange Transportation/Book a hotel. Exploring Culture, Travel Tips for Travel Abroad
第5回	Talk and ask about college campus and facilities.
第6回	Student Presentations and Discussion: What makes a good school?
第7回	Asking for and following directions. Following directions in the USA. Hollywood movie culture.
第8回	Dining Out: Talk about/ask about different kinds of food. Order in restaurants.
第9回	Dining Out: tipping in restaurants. Talk about and describe Japanese food/Japanese food culture.
第10回	Talk about vacation activities. How to rent equipment for vacation activities. Ask for Advice.
第11回	Transportation/Getting around town. Speed, cost and comfort. Taxis, trains, and buses.
第12回	Hotels：Checking in, asking about services, accommodation.
第13回	Travel/Culture in Japan. Explain about a holiday destination in Japan. Make recommendations.
第14回	Student presentations: Recommend places to visit/activities in Japan.
第15回	Final Evaluation and review.
