概要
| 学修到達目標 | Goal=Improve your English The goals of this course are for students to a) improve listening and speaking skills, b) learn to write emails well, c) learn to give opinions(spoken and written), d) improve knowledge of and use of vocabulary, and e) to learn about English-speaking cultures. |

| 授業形態及び 授業方法 |
Various listening, speaking, reading, writing, and vocabulary building activities will be done in small groups, in pairs, and individually. Intermediate and advanced proficiency speakers of English may be given more challenging assignments and opportunities for independent study. |
| 履修条件 | 1. English Communication Iは社会コミュニケーションサブメジャーコースの指定設置科目で、このサブメジャーを取る学生はEnglish Communication IIと共に履修しなければならない。2. 教職免許を取る学生はEnglish Communication IIと共に履修しなければならない。 3. その他の学生は、English Communication IとEnglish Communication IIの両方をI・IIの順で履修することが望ましい。前期のみまたは後期のみ履修することは可能ですが、特にEnglish Communication IIのみ履修する場合、担当教員と相談して下さい。 |

| 第3回 | Communicating understanding: Making comments, asking questions, repeating words and phrases |
| 第4回 | Presentation 1: Past travel, using rubrics and giving feedback |
| 第5回 | Being polite: Asking permission, making requests |
| 第6回 | Airports and immigration: Flight check-in, security check, customs and immigration |
| 第7回 | Finding a place to stay: Using money, talking to taxi drivers and hotel staff |
| 第8回 | Presentation 2: Future travel, using rubrics and giving feedback |
| 第9回 | Shopping: Using money, basic interactions |
| 第10回 | Shopping: Comparisons, compliments, making requests and asking for discounts |
| 第11回 | Restaurants: Small talk and ordering food |
| 第12回 | Presentation 3 (Group presentation): Role-play |
| 第13回 | Course review, remaining presentations |
| 第14回 | Final evaluation of content and writing skills |
| 第15回 | Return and explanation of the final reiew, discussion on future study opportunities |
