概要
学修到達目標 | 本授業科目はDP1・2・6及びCP1・2・6に該当しています。スピーキング・リスニング・ライティング・リーディングの4つのスキルアップを目指す。学生 はスピーチを書いたり、小テストがある。 There are several goals for our classes: 1) to be able to use English to complete communication tasks; 2) to develop presentation and public speaking strategies; and, 3) to gain confidence communicating in English. |

授業形態及び 授業方法 |
対面授業. この授業は全て英語で実施する。For in-class lessons, we will focus on what makes a strong presentation and how to present to small groups. You will have many chances to write English speeches and practice presentation skills. Motivation is key: practice at home. You will improve. |
履修条件 | 1. English Communication Iは社会コミュニケーションサブメジャーコースの指定設置科目で、このサブメジャーを取る学生はEnglish Communication IIと共に履修しなければならない。2. 教職免許を取る学生はEnglish Communication IIと共に履修しなければならない。 3. その他の学生は、English Communication IとEnglish Communication IIの両方をI・IIの順で履修することが望ましい。前期のみまたは後期のみ履修することは可能ですが、特にEnglish Communication IIのみ履修する場合、担当教員と相談して下さい。 |

第4回 | Introducing a friend 友人を紹介するスピーチ Practice your physical message before class--eye contact [10 minutes]. Review and practice physical message after class [10 minutes] and review how to compose effective introductory paragraphs [10 minutes]. Writing--introduce a friend [30 minutes]. |
第5回 | Demonstration 実物説明のスピーチ After class conveying your message with gestures, sequencers [15 minutes]. Before class review physical message and how to compose the body of the speech [15 minutes]. After class Writing--demonstration speech [30 minutes]. |

成績評価の方法 及び基準 |
Scoring: 40% classroom activities, written speeches 35%, quizzes 10%, and final speech 15%. If you’re sick, email me. Your speeches are to be written at home, so completing your speeches is very important. Speeches are graded based on rubrics listed in Moodle. In-class feedback given. |
